Recent Network Errors

Just wondering if there is something we can do as a community to help address the recent network errors during games and maintenance. Does the site need more servers, more bandwidth, different ISP? Or were the issues due to a software build and not infrastructure?

Thibault is still investigating, it might have been due to a library update locking threads. A lot of stuff has been turned off today and it has mostly survived, tomorrow everything will be back excluding search and we will see how it copes.

The hardware infrastructure is probably fine.
I just had network issues. I would play a move, but my time would still tick, until it finally went through 15 seconds later or so. Happened several times in one game. This is a big problem obviously, and makes one a bit wary of this platform. If I start a long rated game and after 30 minutes on it I have to give up because of this, that's not a good feeling. Amazing online chess otherwise, I switched from chess.com some time ago. Hope this won't last. Bonne chance Thibault et merci !
PS: When I say "I just had", that means just now Sep. 1, 9.45 pm CET.
#3 you are a mobile user right, on iOS? T hat is actually a local issue, in part due to connectivity (from your end, that's the nature of mobile) and also due to Safari, which is not supported and has bizarre WebSockets issues (which we can do nothing about). The server-side issues were actually all fixed yesterday.
@ #5 - Then why has advanced search still not been restored?

Thanks
#6 part of the solution was to remove the search from the code. It has been rebuilt in another project and has been put on another server, if it breaks then only that and not lichess would break. It will be tested next deploy. github.com/ornicar/lila-search
Odd. I'm getting the "Network Error: Reconnecting" notification on the top of my screen although I still seem to be able to use the site fully.
So, just in case this information ever winds up being useful for something: I had an internet outage (brief) before I started getting the Network Error message. I disconnected my modem for five minutes, rebooted it and then reloaded chrome/Lichess. Problem solved...no more error message.

For the record - I had never seen this message before this morning.
