Im very interested in the Alphazero chess variants games, for example you can read about it here
en.chessbase.com/post/alphazero-kramnik-torpedo-pawnsDoes lichess have any plans to introduce such variants? I hope so!
These variants do not seem to have that much of an impact on the decisiveness of the game: it stays a draw just the same, so they do not live up to expectations.
The only variant that significantly reduces draws in a good way is crazyhouse, because it never really simplifies. The others either stay drawish, or give white a larger advantage. The extreme case being antichess with it's known win for white, but several of those variants that speed up the game give white a larger advantage once opening theory is figured out.
Its not about draw percentages or whatever for me, i enjoy the changed rules and its fun to play
