London System

Do people on LiChess realize that you don't HAVE to play the London every single game? I just let my clock run down as soon as I see 2.Bf4. I'm so sick and tired of 99% of games on here being the London. It literally makes me hate chess seeing the same game over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Stalling on time will result in a playban, duration of which will only increase with each infraction. So, don't waste your time.

Time is a social construction and as such it cannot be wasted. Now, if you want to get back to the point of the post...?

To the point of discussion. Play differently against the London if you want variation in what games looks like.

I know that I don't have to play the London every single game but I guess if I were playing you I would go for it without hesitation :-)

Actually I switched from 1. ... Nf6 to 1. ... g6 in order to get the KID. If 2.Bf4 I am ready for a quick d6, Nd7, Bg7, e5!. It‘s better without Nf6!

Come on. People can play whatever they want.

In the chess club I hear again and again, London system, play something else. It is so boring! Alone this reaction I find arrogant and disrespectful. I think the London system is great for my playing style and I am always happy to discover something new. The system is very flexible and it is up to the player to use his imagination. That's why I like to play correspondence chess to get more involved with the opening.

First, letting your time run is poor sportsmanship. Although still bad, it would be better for you just to resign.
Second, you can simply meet 1.d4 with 1...c5 and avoid the London altogether.
