Tournaments - Opportunities

I think that it is unfair and unsportly to put all players together in tournaments, the strongest and the weakest all together. It does not make any sense. This way the weakest players never have a chance to win! This is something absurd. Tournaments should be organized per categories, so that every player can face other opponents of roughly the same strength. This is why ratings were created!
If a weak player want to win something one day, so, he just needs to improve.
I agree and disagree.
In OTB tournaments I always play up to the open section (If I can) or the A section if I must.

Then again I do not win as often in the open. To me it is also nice for people near their rating to play people around their rating unless for some reason you are like me and want to play up.

Categorized events make a lot of sense but for online purposes I am at a crossroad. I feel there should be a class section something like

U1100
U1500
U1700
U2000
Open < Where anyone can play.

However online I am not sure the difference it makes but I could be wrong. I would personally like to see it tried at least once to see how it goes.
Since the tournament pairing is by points won in the tournament, after a few rounds, most players should be playing against opponents roughly the same strength. However, there are not enough low-rated players in the tournaments, so they often get paired with stronger players.
Why should the "weak" player wins anything ?
The players >2500, they worked hard to get there.
You want to win tournaments ? Work.

This said, it is not a bad idea that everybody can claim to a price, but that only depends of the organizor.
It's not something that is due.
For my post I am meaning non prize tournaments. Not like bitchess runs. The kind I am talking about is just regular lichess tournaments. I think the bitchess ones have to be open and everyone plays in the same grouping.
Anyone else read "Bitchess" and think er.... thats borderline profanity.
There is a system call the winner pool and the loser pool. At the start of the tournament everyone is in one pool. After the first game the player who lose will go to the loser pool and the winner to the winner pool. In the loser pool the player who lose a second time will be knocked out. In the winner pool the player who lose will be transferred to the loser pool. As the competition progresses there will be one player left in the winner pool who has not lost a single game whereas in the loser there is one player left who has loss one game only. They will met each other in the final. No quarter or semifinal. Everyone will have at least played twice in the tournament. I agree with GATEAU's comment. bye friends.
