I only ask because my win/loss ratio has been terrible for years. Mostly because I'm bad. But it's just odd that the w/l ratio has remained consistent over the years. I remember I checked Lichess Insights, and if I remember correctly, it's just as consistently bad this last month as it has been since I started using this account.
and yes, I know part of the % is draw. I'm talking about relative frequency of win/loss without regard to drawing

You seem disagreeable. What I said can still be perceived as factual if you make the effort, because you can change the meaning to "roughly equal" and it still works. And I never said that rating should be consistent.

Lichess can't control the ratings of your opponents for games in arenas, tournaments, or lobby games. It can only control games played from the pool.
I searched your profile for blitz games. Among games from the quick pair pool, you have 8610 wins and 8570 losses, a win percentage of 50.1%.
I think you will agree this is pretty close to 50%.
