Opponent Adding Time

This needs to be something that you toggle off. Why on earth does this even exist as a standard feature? Just so when I'm about to flag in a losing position my opponent can keep slamming +15 seconds over and over again? Obviously this is just going to be abused guys. Nice idea but ...no cigar.

Actually...it's not really a nice idea. I can't think of one single reason why this would be implemented. Please - stop catering to blitz and bullet kiddies. It just makes the site like an arcade experience. Adding time to your opponent's clock without their permission at the end? Come on ....

You seem involved.....but you aren't saying anything new. Yes....that's probably forum related......meaning not everything is grouped......so I agree....fishball curry is putrid! :D

I wasn't concerned about time controls until I grew suspicious that some of my opponents were using the longer times to cheat by manually transcribing the moves into an engine. So I started using shorter and shorter time's - mostly for that reason (and the more obvious one that some people will think about a move for an eternity without some kind of stick). The guys I regularly play with I trust - so the option to have the +15 seconds is definitely a bonus because the cheating ceases to be an issue.
Then somebody posted a link to a youtube video where it seems your opponent doesn't need to transcribe the moves automatically.... :( I suppose I'll maybe move to a longer game and be done with it.....

There is a strategy to moving quickly so the opponent is back on his heels and you can think on HIS time.

_____However, I recently had a game where I was at 6 mins & opp. was @ 1 and I ADDED TIME because I wanted an "outplayed him" win instead of a win aided by a time pressure blunder. I game him a minute and was beaten without a thank you or 'gg'... SO WHAT !!! IT was a good game & made me better....

The guy is frantically gouging a hardwood plank with his nails, 6 foot under in the middle of a remote forest, screaming to exhaustion 'It WAS A GOOD GAME....." :D

Link to another thread - it could be the script for a good chess movie....Something like the original 'Old Boy'.....guy wakes up in a coffin because he cheated in a chess match or never paid the right compliments..... :D
