Is flagging a legitamite strategy?

one wisdom for the day:
rather flagg than get flagged.
cheers!

> As long as it doesn't say in the rulebook that the object of the 100m dash is to checkmate your opponent, then I'd say yes, it's legitimate.
rule book also says that player failing to make moves in allocated time loses. So winning with time is just the same. And bullet this just amplifies. If you for quality of moves use longer time controls

6.2 a. When using a chess clock, each player must make a minimum number of moves or
all moves in an allotted period of time and/or may be allocated an additional
amount of time with each move. All these must be specified in advance.

6.9 Except where one of the Articles: 5.1.a, 5.1.b, 5.2.a, 5.2.b, 5.2.c applies, if a player does
not complete the prescribed number of moves in the allotted time, the game is lost by
the player. However, the game is drawn, if the position is such that the opponent cannot
checkmate the player’s king by any possible series of legal moves.

That is from the rulebook and clearly tells that putting opponen in position to not complete all his/her moves is just an another way of winning. And in short time controls it is pretty normal.

> lol of course people would still win with slimy tactics, at all time controls. every human chessplayer ever has won a game they shouldn't have, including you. now go learn how to spell.

There is nothing dishonorable about winning with tactics, which are the result of better positional preparation and superior calculation. They are at the very core of elite chess play. What's SLIMEY is to quickly spew garbage moves in a pathetic attempt to flag your opponent so you can jump up and down and scream "I win I win". Are you really that desperate? And by the way, chess player is two words. Please learn to spell.
Once the clock is under 10 seconds I agree that all thoughts of "proper" chess should be put from your mind and flagging now has to be the foremost way of winning, but players who waste time trying to flag games with long increments or obviously drawn endings (opposite bishop or rook endings being the worst offenders) are the scum of the earth and deserve nothing less then a punch in the face if you ever see them in real life !

please don't pretend to be punctilious about details when you make such egregious spelling mistakes. winning with tactics are at the core of every kind of chess play, elite, beginner, whatever, which you would know if you played chess. do you play chess? what's your rating? have you tried playing bullet on lichess without using a computer?
#35: 'Are you really that desperate?' ~ Are you really so desperate to convince yourself that you didn't lose after you got flagged that you make shitty excuses and call your opponent, 'desperate'?

When you lose, admit you lost, acknowledge that your opponent deserved to win, see where you could've played better, and don't make excuses. Making excuses for your mistakes hinders your improvement.

#36: If you get flagged in an 'obviously drawn endgame,' I guess the endgame isn't obviously drawn. ;)
