I know this theory and I dont think that it is very pointful.
First you cant conclude that cheater are "good" because you are forced to learn something from your mistakes in a game you were tricked. This is obviously not the idea of a cheater that you become a better player.
Its also very questionable if you learn that much out of such a game. If you play against another human player you are confronted with typical humanlike ideas and here is enough room to improve your chess afterwards. Your example that just 2 beginners play random moves against each other is not very pointful as well.
Human players improve if they play against other human players. You need to be at least able to introduce some strategical ideas and playing against (for example) stockfish is therefore not a good way due to the fact that you are just blown away by the engine without learning anything except the fact that humans have no chance against computers.
By the way: I dont want to play against engines, I want to play against other humans and thats exactly why we are here.
