Some cheating.

I see yr point Frapator - What i'm trying to say though is that after losing a game its possible to explain that to oneself in a variety of ways; the last I would ever think of is - I was cheated! It Just wouldn't - doesn't - occur to me. I'm more interested I suppose in my own game :)
Something also overlooked in regard to people not analyzing their games...

If you suspect a cheater, and you analyze your game and it is still suspect, and you look at other games and think they also look suspect but were not analyzed, you can request an analysis yourself. You don't actually have to be one of the 2 players of the game to request analysis if I remember correctly. This will expedite the process of flagging cheaters because the anti-cheat system and moderators needs the data.
Every cheater is a disgrace, no doubt about it, still I do believe that the amount of cheating gets overestimated.

#60 "In 25 classical games I was cheated in 5 games"

Out of curiosity I browsed through your classical games - those that you lost - and I only found one case of a marked cheater.
There are two more games against the user autumn2015, who's account is now closed. He/she may have been a cheater, I dunno, but those two games could well be "human" as well - the first is a blunder (and resignation) on your part on move 12 - your opponent did nothing special at all. The second is a quiet game where a 5 average centipawn loss can always happen. Your opponent's moves look entirely human to me.
@H_Badorties,

Since I started investigations about cheating I collected some experience and I am not telling crap when I mention that the chance of being cheated if your classical rating is above 2000 is really high. My own experiences are not needed to prove anything.

Just one example:

I followed a suspect player yesterday (SombreroFlick) and saw that his victim was also cheated in his next game. Then I looked at his losses and found out that (I stopped it because I was tired) at least 3 more games are very suspicious. I dont mention the names because I have made no deeper investigation at this time.

Strong classical players like him have to face cheaters regularly and in my opinion 20% cheating rate is more than realistic as this recent example illustrates without any doubt.

You are free to ignore cheating if you want but the problem will still be there.

Yeah, I often first go to the player's profile to see what they are up to. If I have any doubts about them, I will not play classical games against them.
I don't say we should ignore cheating.
I have no doubt whatsoever that cheating is happening.
I have no doubt whatsoever that it's more likely to happen in the 2000+ rating range.

I do say however that some users, like you, are so sensitive to the problem that they tend to exaggerate the amount of games they lost because the other guy was a blatant cheater. Simple as that.

Again: "In 25 classical games I was cheated in 5 games" - could you provide a link to those 5 games?

@H_Badorties:

You are obviously right that I presented wrong information about my own experiences. I actually played only 24 classical games, another game in which I was tricked was 5+4 ( http://de.lichess.org/0rQ8MnBUGV1C ) I thought this was a classical game so my statement is obviously based on some confusion. Sorry for that - you are right and I am wrong!

@DVRazor:

If you try to avoid obvious cheaters just dont play against players without or with a low bullet rating. Also avoid playing against really new accounts or accounts with suspicious names like "1234XYhaha" or "asdf342L" etc.

At least check every game with analysis and look for move times. Most cheaters arent able to create humanlike move times. They are often unnormal flat, they are thinking 3-5 sec./move even for random opening moves or simple recaptures. They also tend to play fast and flawless even in complicated tactical situations.

Deeper investigations are needed to find out that their play is not harmonious (suddenly taking longer thinks for obvious moves or making pointless moves that dont fit into the ones they made before and so on but at the end they will win because of tactical precision in the right moments and so on...)

FWIW - I just checked my own games against 1800+ opposition (blitz and standard). 289 games and I played a marked cheater twice. Proofs nothing, I know, but I found it noteworthy.
